Chat with strangers
Your next conversation needs an opener, not a résumé.

Start with something easy to answer
A small opinion is often easier to share than a life story. Ask whether texting or calling wins, which meal they could happily eat all week, or what they have been learning lately. Hot Takes offers more low-stakes debate material while you wait.
Follow one interesting detail in their answer. Conversation is less awkward when both people get space to ask and respond, instead of one person working through a list of questions.
Be curious without collecting personal details
You do not need someone's real name, exact location, workplace or social account to have a good conversation. Keep your background and camera view free of identifying documents. Declining a question is enough; nobody owes an explanation.
Ask before changing the subject to something sensitive. OddHello's adult-only rule is not permission to expose someone to sexual content, pressure or harassment. Respect the same boundaries you would want respected yourself.
Know when to leave
Sometimes a chat simply does not click. Next ends it without requiring an excuse. If a stranger is abusive, threatening or appears to be under 18, leave and use Report. Do not argue or continue a conversation to investigate them.
Random introductions can be interesting, ordinary or awkward. Treat the person at the other end as a person, not content to record or post elsewhere.
Make your next hello a little less mysterious
