Meet someone unexpected.

Old-school random chat. More ways to take control.

OddHello is an independent Omegle alternative built around one-to-one conversation. Choose text or video, add a shared interest if you like, and see where hello takes you. There is no public profile to perfect or feed to keep up with.

Text checks, on-device video screening, Next and Report help you manage the conversation. They cannot catch everything. Keep identifying details to yourself and leave whenever something feels wrong.

From Start to hello

1. Pick text or video. Text needs no camera or microphone.
2. Add interests, or leave them empty. Confirm that you are 18 or older before chatting.
3. Join the queue. A match needs another available person in your chat mode.
4. Say hello. Stay, use Next, or stop whenever you want.

Frequently asked questions

Is OddHello free?

Yes. Text and video chat are free. You do not need an account, download or subscription. You must be 18 or older.

Is OddHello an Omegle alternative?

OddHello uses the familiar idea of meeting one random stranger at a time through text or video. It is an independent CritHit Studio project, with its own adult-only rules, safety controls and moderation. It is not affiliated with Omegle.

Do I need an account to talk to strangers?

No. OddHello has no accounts or public profiles. A signed anonymous session supports chat, age acknowledgement and abuse prevention. It expires after 24 hours without renewal; closing a tab does not immediately erase server records.

Are video calls private?

OddHello does not record calls. Media uses encrypted WebRTC, directly between browsers or through an encrypted-media relay. Direct connections can reveal network information to the other participant. Reports can include selected frames, and another participant could record their own screen.

Can moderation catch everything?

No. Automated text checks and on-device video screening can miss harmful content or get things wrong. Use Next to leave and Report to ask for review. Do not stay in an unsafe chat to collect evidence.

Does OddHello work on a phone?

Yes, in a supported mobile browser. Text chat does not need media permissions. Video needs camera and microphone access, and call quality depends on both participants' devices and connections.

What happens if nobody shares my interests?

OddHello starts by looking for a shared interest, then broadens the search after about fifteen seconds. It can only match you when another eligible person is available in the same chat mode. Waiting times vary.
