Who is behind OddHello

CritHit Studio operates OddHello. Joé Weis is its owner and founder. The idea is intentionally small: two adults can meet through text or video without first building accounts, profiles or an audience.

OddHello is independent and is not affiliated with Omegle. It is a working community project, not a promise that every stranger will be wonderful. Feedback about what works, what breaks and what feels unclear helps improve it.

Privacy is a design constraint

There are no public profiles or advertising trackers. The service keeps limited state for connections and safety, and aggregate counts to understand whether people actually reach a conversation. Optional browser statistics are a choice, not a condition of using chat.

Calls use encrypted peer-to-peer WebRTC where possible, with relay fallback. OddHello does not record calls. The privacy explanation covers direct-connection network information, short-lived text buffers and report evidence without hiding the trade-offs.

Safety takes more than a slogan

OddHello is 18+. Automated text checks, on-device video screening and reports help reduce harmful encounters. These systems are imperfect; moderators do not watch every call and harmful content can still get through.

You can leave immediately and report a stranger, including after a recent disconnect. Reports can contain recent messages and selected attached frames. The Safety page explains the controls and their limits.
